What Is PIR?
Polyisocyanurate (PIR) is a CFC-free rigid closed-cell insulation that performs very well in pipe, cold, cryogenic, vessel, equipment, and duct applications. FEZECO offers a wide range of PIR insulation materials in a variety of densities and compressive strengths.

What is PUR?
Polyurethane (PUR) insulation is a CFC-free rigid closed-cell, high-performance insulation that is used for pipe, cryogenic, vessel, equipment, and tank insulation. It is one of the most efficient high-performance insulation materials, allowing for significant energy savings while occupying little space.
Advantages
Closed-cell and non-fibrous structure
Exceptional moisture resistance
Strong and durable
Long life span
Excellent chemical resistance
Hydrocarbon blowing agents, which have no ozone-depletion potential (Zero ODP)

What Is The Difference Between PIR & PUR?
Polyurethane rigid foam (or PUR for short) has been utilised in building as a high-performance insulation material since the 1960s. PIR, a new product generation, is the result of ongoing technological breakthroughs.
Both PIR & PUR and are manufactured from the same components isocyanate (MDI) and polyol. The components in PUR are in a balanced ratio, however, in PIR, MDI is employed in an obvious excess ratio. The excess components react with themselves resulting in a synthetic material with ring-like structures that are heavily linked- PIR. Due to this extensive linking and ring structure, PIR rigid form is more stable having excellent thermal and dimensional stability.
